First Week at the Gym

I joined the gym on Tuesday and I enjoyed every minute of my first week!! So fun and exciting to try out new group exercise classes and find my favorite instructors. So here is a recap....

Tuesday I officially signed up! I was nervous just being in the women's locker room just changing my clothes. I am in love with my Lululemon gym bag and have been using it everyday. Once I was changed out of my work clothes and into my workout gear, I headed out to the cardio floor. I ran for 30 minutes on the most amazing treadmill I have ever run on before!!! I then did 30 minutes on the elliptical. Each had a 5 minute cool down that I did as well. I then went into another room and played with these....

I see these ropes on the Biggest Loser and they look so fun. After a few minutes of playing with these I was a nice sweaty mess and figured today was a good first day at they gym.

Wednesday morning I got in a great early morning run before work with this girl....

4.71 miles

I worked till 5 then headed over to the gym (3 minute drive from my office) to try out a spin class!

One hour spin class and I loved it!!

Nice sweaty workout and I plan on challenging myself more during my next class.

Thursday, I returned to the gym and ran on the treadmill/ elliptical for 30 minutes each. Nice workout but trying not to do too much too soon.

Friday was bootcamp!!! I worked until 2 and the class was not until 4:30 so I headed to the mall for a quick eyebrow threading. The timing worked out perfectly and I had plenty of time to change before the class started!!!

Bootcamp was an hour long. As I write this post it is Sunday evening and let me just say that I am having trouble getting on and off the toilet!!! My legs are crazy sore!!!!!!!!! I could tell during the class that I would be hurting in a few days. It was a great class and I will be back next week.

Saturday morning was my running group!! I choose to run it alone knowing that I should not hook up with any one group/pace/distance. I did not want anyone having to worry about leaving me behind. I knew it was going to be a challenge for me. My legs Saturday were not as sore as they are Sunday but they were sore. I managed 3 slow miles. I may not have gone the distance I wanted to, but I was really glad that it did not stop me from going at all. I love my running group and miss a few injured runners!! I can't wait for them to return.

Sunday, my husband and I had planned once again to take the dogs hiking. The weather today has been gray, foggy, cold and rainy!! We decided to pass on the hike and my legs thanked me.

I am still on my cleaning, organizing and tossing things out mood. Today, I organized the drawers in the kitchen island and relined them.

It always feels so good to get a few things done!! I cleaned the stove/ microwave and got the sheets washed too. I washed all my workout clothes and most I hang to dry. Ready for the gym.

Looking forward to taking more classes at the gym this week. It looks like the schedule for the month of January stays the same. I hope to take a bodypump class sometime this week, so I will let you know how that goes too!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!!!

  1. Sounds like a great time at the gym! After my firs boot camp class, my legs were SO sore! Don't you love that feeling?! I would love to find a spin class near me. Ok, what is eyebrow threading? I've done waxing, but never heard of threading!

  2. I will never have mine waxed again!! You must try "threading" check to see if they have a salon at your local mall. Mine is called Brow Art 23. Google it. I know there are a few other companies out there. You will love love love!

  3. I didn't know about threading until I moved near NYC. It's all the rage here. Glad you're having fun at the gym!
