If there is one thing that I love doing, it is organized and clearing things out. I love how the new year always allows for a fresh start. I also like to get things in order.
I organized my side of the closet and even had a bag for donations. I also went through my dresser just putting things where they go. Sometimes I am in a hurry and things just don't get put back how they should. Besides my bedroom, I managed to get a few things straighten up in the kitchen. I organized a few cabinets and even wiped them all down. White cabinets = Eraser sticks!
I also made sure I was stocked up on my favorite cleaning supplies!!
I was up and out early for a run on Monday morning. I wanted to finish out the year with an awesome run. I was super excited to try out my new Lululemon run toasty tech tights.
It is cold in Maryland so I was head to toe in Lulu. I wore my running jacket that I received last Christmas, along with my headband. I love the tights. So comfortable and warm. My legs never felt cold. I did my miles solo. Sometimes that is not such a bad thing.
Slow steady hilly miles!! I had stopped my watch at an hour but continued on to round out 6 miles. They felt really good. Crazy, but I enjoy running in the cold. So cold that I had tears down my face and nose running but, thankfully I had my gloves on!!
My daughter curled my hair before we went out on New Years Eve. I have never used one of those rods before. You actually have to wear a glove that protects your hand from the heat of the iron, and wrap the hair around it. Like a curling iron without the lever. I loved how it turned out.
Here we are headed out to bring in the New Year.
We had hoped to go to Annapolis again this year to celebrate, but my husband had to work. It is just too far of a drive if you can't at least enjoy the entire day there. By the time he got home and showered we decided on dinner and the movies. Dinner was at our favorite Mexican restaurant. So nice to walk right in and get a seat. It was crowded, but it helps to be a party of two!! Then we went and saw the movie This is 40. So funny!!! I could relate to many things in this movie! We had a great night and got home just in time to see the ball drop in NYC.
Today, I participated in the Resolution Run with RuntotheFinish. My resolution for 2013 is to be CONSISTENT. Not just with my exercise, but also with my healthy eating. So I printed out my bib, and headed out to run!!!
Just down the street from me was the New Years Winfield Mile. A very small race, just a mile, to get you motivated to start out the year on a good note. I arrived early and warmed up with a quick mile. I chatted with a few other runners, some of whom I recognized from my running group.
When someone yelled out go, off we went. I finished my mile in 9:34. After two miles I headed back home. My husband and I were taking our dogs for a hike at a near by trail.
So cute.
Our chessie loves the water!! He retrieved his toy duck several times. He was so excited!!
Our lab on the other hand.....no way was he gettin in!
The trails were beautiful today. Slushy snow and mud made for a few challenging hills, but I loved every second and so did the dogs.
One hour and 3 miles later we headed to the truck. I either had to take my shoes off or ride in the back of the truck! You can see what I decided.
What an amazing start to 2013. Sitting here blogging by the fire. Can life get any better?? I hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as I did!!!
Thanks for reading!!!!!

I so wish I would have done a New Years race, but I am also glad I didn't (I was in no shape for racing that morning). Good to know that some people are smarter than I am! Good job!
ReplyDeleteThe best part about this race was that it was at NOON!! lol
