Nasoya Pasta Zero Review

I was contacted a few months ago by Kelsey from Nasoya Pasta Zero. She asked if I would be interested in giving this pasta a try and offered to send me some money saving coupons. I took her up on it. After all, this is a gluten free, 0 fat and only 20 calories per serving pasta!

I purchased the pasta zero at Trader Joes' for $1.59 (pretty sure) then used my .55 cent coupon. I purchased two bags. A bag of spaghetti and a bag fettuccine. They are found in the chilled section of the grocery store. The bag only contains 2 servings. This concerned me since I was going to be preparing it for both myself and my husband.

The directions were super easy to follow.

Drain and rinse pasta first. I have to be honest, it did have a fishy kind of smell when I opened the bag and poured it in the strainer.

Cook pasta over a medium heat in non stick pan for about 2 minutes for the pasta to "dry." This is where things got weird for me. I continued to cook for over two minutes waiting for the pasta to "dry" but it never seemed like it did. Not sure what I was expecting "dry" to be.

Once I felt the pasta was "dry" I set it in a bowl to the side. Using the same pan I mixed the lite cream cheese, butter and non fat milk. This smelt yummy of course. Since the pasta was only 20 calories per serving, I did not think the other added ingredients were too terrible.

I then combined everything together.

I then measured out 2/3 cup (serving size). I purposely measured it out to see if it was going to be satisfying. Anytime you see pictures of my food it is always on a salad size plate.

I then seasoned with a little salt and pepper to taste. I was excited to give this a try!!

I wish I could say I loved it. Sadly, that is not the case! I just could not get past the texture of the pasta. I kept wondering if I had just not "dried" it out enough or what, but I could only handle a bite. The flavor of the sauce was awesome. Just could not get past the texture. My husband took a bite as well and thought he was chewing on a rubber band.  So disappointed!!!

Awesome ingredients.

If anyone else has tried this type of pasta (I saw several different brands at the store) let me know if I did not cook the noodles long enough!! I still have the bag of spaghetti that I plan to try out this week. I am not giving up. Who does not love pasta:)

I also have an additional coupon if anyone is interested. I would be happy to mail it to you just let me know:)

    1. I did hear back from Kelsey at Nasoya. She too appreciated my honesty and had a few suggestions. She suggested I microwave the noodles for several minutes to allow them to dry completely. She also said that the skillet I use to cook them is can also alter the result slightly. I will give these a try when I try out the spaghetti noodles:)

  2. It's tough to find pastas that are gluten free and that taste good. I've tried some at Whole Foods that were great, but so expensive. Too bad about the texture... it did look yummy!
