Weighing In and Winning!!

Hi all. Sorry I am posting this late! First up....my weigh in.

No change from last week. Again, I am totally fine with that. My body is still getting use to changing up my workouts. I have been super hungry when I walk in the door from the gym. Almost like I have no control and I am just mindlessly eating. This week though has been better. I have been trying out some different protein shakes to have either right before the gym or right after the gym. This does seem to be helping me more with my appetite.

My youngest, Taylor

My husband and I both worked all day Wednesday, then we needed to get our youngest daughter, Taylor, back to college. It has been so nice to have her home for winter break. Our house has gotten so quiet over these past few years. Trust me, raising 4 girls, our home has always been more like a sorority house!!! Rarely quiet that's for sure!!

She attends school about 3 hours away. Once we carried all her things to her dorm and got her settled, we said our quick goodbyes and we were back on the road for another 3 hours! We did make a stop on the way back so my husband could get some coffee at a Royal Farms. I grabbed an apple, string cheese and some Popchips. Not too bad:) It was a long day!!!

This morning we woke up to about an inch of snow. Happy to wear my new boots. The weather in Maryland has been SO SO cold this week, and more snow is expected tomorrow!!!

h
So happy I decided to join this gym!!!

After work, I headed over to the gym. With snow outside I hit the treadmill running. I RAN 5 miles!!!! Woohoo. This is a big deal for me since I NEVER run on the treadmill. Since joining the gym I have gotten on the treadmill several times and hit the 5k button, but today I decided to push myself just a little bit farther. I selected the manual option with my pace at 11:45. When I was done I have burned 635 calories. Awesome!!!! It is a great way to train for a race and I have a few coming up in April.

Look what arrived in the mail today!!!!! I am so EXCITED!! I WON them from one of my favorite blogs and they retail for $169!! I will review them in an upcoming post. First I have to open the box and read all the instructions and have one of my daughters help me get them all set up!!!!

How cool, right????

Before I forget. If you follow the Biggest Loser, you know there is a boy, Biingo, who is a contestant from Maryland. Crazy thing is, his family just joined my gym!!!!!! Apparently, he was in my bodypump class on Monday along with his mother. I was not paying attention, but you better believe I will be looking for him in the next class!! My dream would be to meet Bob and this kid just might be my ticket!

I promise to post more!!!!

  1. Taylor is so pretty! All your girls are. There are 7 girls in my family, so I definitely know what you mean about it seeming like a sorority!
I can't wait to hear about the Bluebuds.
That is so cool that Bingo and his family joined your gym!! Maybe you can try to sneak a picture too. ;)
One more thing, are you trying to lose weight, or just maintain? Because I think you look perfect and like you don't need to lose a pound!

  2. Wow, 7 girls in your family!! People feel sorry for my husband having 4 daughters!
So bummed I went to the gym after work and forgot to put the Bluebuds in my gym bag!! I did get them all set up and they are amazing!!!!
I would have to say that I would much rather be 145 pounds and I was there and holding steady all last summer. After my marathon and then during the holidays, I did gain a few pounds and would LOVE to get them off!

    1. They did feel sorry for him, but also were a little envious! His girls adore and spoil him! (I have 2 brothers as well)

  3. Your daughters are gorgeous! I'm anxious to hear about the earphones. I need a new set, although I don't run with music outside (only on the treadmill). I know you live in my general area (I'm in No. Virginia), and was wondering if you're running the MCM again or the Cherry Blossom 10-miler. I'm doing both (hopefully I get into MCM). It will be my first full. I'm running my first half next week in California. Btw, love your blog and look forward to your posts!

    1. Thanks Deborah! I did get in the Cherry Blossom again this year so I am super excited about that! Debating the MCM or the Under Armour Baltimore full. I have a friend that wants me to run it with her. I would not expect to PR in Baltimore since it is a VERY hilly race. Good luck with your half! Let me know how it goes!!!
