I have been trying to pull myself out of this crazy funk.
After the 21 Day Sugar Detox Challenge I lost all my focus.
My exercise this past week has not been the best either. I did get a 5 mile run in on Friday morning and met with my running group on Saturday morning. Even during that run the first mile seemed so incredible hard to me. I beat myself up during that run too...."You are no runner. How did you ever run a marathon? You should be much faster then you are."
The self talk went on for 5 miles!!!
Gosh, why do I do this to myself??? Then I let the comparisons creep back in.
Hate it. Hate it. Hate it.
When I got back from my run on Saturday morning, John had a list of things he wanted to get done around the house/yard. I decided to join the girls at the mall. I knew this would help with my mood. Nothing better then hanging out with 3 of my daughters (they are more like my best friends) and my grandson to take the focus off yourself!!
I love how the girls are helpful when it comes to me picking out my clothes, shoes, purses and even makeup! It is like I have a personal stylist. We spent a great afternoon together.
I seriously cannot get enough of them.
When I got home, John was showered and ready to go out. I needed to get a new pair of running shoes and have just not had time to go! I love Charm City Run. They have the most knowledgeable salespeople ever!!! I want to purchase my running shoes from someone who knows what they are talking about.
I brought my Mizunos and Brooks with me. I switch out these two pairs depending on what I was going to be running that day. The man helping me took a look at both pairs and discussed how they have worn. He said I should put my Mizunos out of service lol since they have too much wear on them. I have to say that I have really been favoring my Brooks.
I am super excited!! New running shoes!! The best part about this purchase is that they were free!! Remember a few posts back when I told you that I won a $100 visa gift card through Blogher? Crazy thing is that I never even asked what the price was and they happened to be $100.
After I get a few good runs in, I will do a review and let you know what I think!
After the running store we went into Lululemon!!! John said I should get myself something since my shoes were free. Sorry, I just couldn't do it. Not the same if its not my bday or Christmas, but I did purchase this cute headband. I love it. Wore it to spin class tonight. Never had to mess with it and I loved how the band is wider and kept all my longer bangs out of the way!!
I want one in every color now:) Plus, it was only $12.
Sunday morning John took his boss and the VP crabbing. Then we were invited back to the VPs house for a Labor Day crab eating celebration.
Remember, I had only met John's new boss and coworkers just the one time a few months ago.
This time it was just us 3 couples and their young children.
I did not feel nearly as nervous as the first time. It was much more relaxed. I really enjoyed talking and getting to know everyone. The guys pretty much hung out on the back porch, while the women hung out in the kitchen. The conversation just flowed so easliy and there was endless talk about raising kids, cooking, cleaning, exercise and of course...our husbands!
Besides the crabs caught by the guys today, they had a beautiful spread of side dishes and shish kabobs. I still do not feel comfortable enough to have my phone out or I would have snapped a few pics. Gosh, I guess our house will be next when we decided to get together again!! Ahhhhhh
I had the BEST time!! Fun date night:)
My Labor Day was spent cleaning. I played all weekend and needed to get some serious housework done. Not to mention laundry. I just love love love a clean organized house. Just another thing that keeps me in control.
Clean wood floors. The hubs actually gave me a hand!
Hopefully, my funk has passed. Now I just need to step up and get my eating back in control. Tomorrow is Wednesday and that means weigh in day. I feel the extra weight on me so I know its not gonna be pretty, but I need to do it anyway. I will be embarrassed for sure, but will post my weight. Just keeps me accountable and I have not weighed in for a few weeks.
Are you ready for Fall??
I love my hoodies, Uggs and a good flannel!
What is your favorite fall wear?
