Okay, here we go. I said that I would post my weight from my weigh in yesterday.
I am UP! Way UP!! I knew I was. I could feel it. I could see it. Looking back on my weight from this time last summer, I am up about 7-8 pounds. That is a lot of weight. Yes, my clothes feel a little bit tighter but the scale tells the big story.
My funk seems to have finally lifted and I am ready for a fresh start. I am not committed to any one thing to get my weight back down. It's time for me to look back on what worked for me. Not what works/worked for anyone else. I follow many blogs and there is so much out there as far as eating goes. I think when I go to any one extreme, it tends to backfire on me.
I also need to focus on my workouts. My back continues to bother me as well. Low back pain that I have never experienced before. I think I have come to the conclusion that it was probably from my body pump class. Too much weight too soon!! I should have taken it slower.
Another thing that I am dealing with is missing my running routine. I usually run on Monday and Wednesday mornings with a friend. We would meet at 6am. I would only make myself get up because, I knew this said friend would either be in my driveway very soon, or I would be in hers. Well, sadly her schedule has changed. I just may have to find a new running partner. I do better when I am accountable to someone else!!
So, I have learned a few things over the past couple of weeks.
- Getting into a FUNK stinks.
- I do NOT do well when my routine changes.
- My running partners MOTIVATE me more than I knew.
- I NEED accountability.
- Scheduling my workouts are a MUST.
- It's time to focus on what works for ME.
This afternoon I was really happy to get in a good 5 mile run. The weather is gorgeous in MD today and no humidity! I am so ready for fall running weather. I loved my new Brooks Pure Flow shoes. Crazy, you never realize how badly you need new running shoes until you get a new pair!
Over the weekend I slipped into Victoria Secret and purchased another one of my all time favorite running bras. I own two, but they are starting to look ratty, and no matter how many times I wash it, I can never seem to get that sweaty smell out of them. I like that I still have somewhat of a shape with this bra. Make sure you have your $10 off coupon:)
I also got a new chair for my desk. I liked the clear color and the cheap price. It also has some give in it so you can lean back with a slight bounce. Now I can put my dining room chair back where it belongs. I kinda feel like my office is pretty much complete. Now I just want to find some sort of cabinet that I can paint a funky color and load it full of my healthy living books:)
I have a few weeks before the official end of summer to get my weight back down. I know I am not the only one who has gained over the summer!!
Who else needs to hit their reset button??
Ready for fall running???
